Our three core activities to fulfil the charity’s objectives for the public benefit are as follows:

1. Grant financial awards to students wishing to pursue a career in financial services.

• This helps to achieve our objective of the advancement of knowledge of and education in financial services.

2. Recognise the highest level of professional competence by awarding chartered status to individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to continued education and professional excellence.

• This helps to achieve our objective of the advancement of knowledge of and education in financial services as membership offers access to ongoing learning and development.

3. Commissioning research in the field of financial education for the benefit of the public.

Awarding chartered status

Banking and finance professionals can apply for chartered status with us to demonstrate that they are highly qualified, experienced and committed to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Applications for chartered status are administered by The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF).
